Food, glorious food!
Food, glorious food! I might be a personal trainer, but I love a good meal—wine, gin, or a cider—and I always make room for pudding. I love a hot pudding with custard, but I am a terrible cook. It has taken me 30 years to learn a few things; for example, I make a good wrap, a toasted cheese sarmie, and a fairly good tomato soup.
My hubby loves making food and watching cooking shows whenever he can; he would love for me to be the next Jamie Oliver! He believes that food is a universal connector; it brings people together and spreads love, laughter, and excitement. For this reason, we always visit around a table—we do not even own couches. My hubby believes that food should be creative, accessible, and an everyday joy. The focus should be on simple, rustic dishes made with great ingredients that anyone can make or just enjoy.
My hubby detests chefs that think the world of themselves and use all these fancy words just to say something straightforward.
It is a pity that, due to his disability, he can no longer cook. The counters are too high because he is in a wheelchair, and his coordination is not that great anymore—he might lose a finger or two. So, for now, I have to be his hands, but I must say, for the most part, we just eat out.
